BellTel Loft Apt available Feb - $3285

My husband and I recently purchased a new home in the suburbs and are looking for someone to take over the lease of our apartment....

The Building!

It is the old Bell Telephone building in downtown Brooklyn. More info about the building and units can be found at this website...www.belltellofts.com

The Apartment!

The unit is approx 1232 sq ft with 1 bedroom, 2 home occupancy rooms, 1 walk-in closet and 1 bathroom. Home occupancy rooms are defined as those with no windows, but here are some reasons we haven't missed them:

-the ceilings are very tall (over 13ft), which opens the space significantly and prevents it from feeling confining
-there is one long hallway down the length of the apartment which allows plenty of light to reach the far end
-my husband uses one room as a home office and extra storage
-we have a 10 mth old daughter who sleeps in the first room. With no windows, she doesn’t wake up at the crack of dawn and we haven’t had to worry about blackout curtains.
-the master bedroom gets filtered light from the living room
-the building is very well ventilated and we've never had a problem with air-flow. In the summers with the windows open, breezes can be felt all through the long hallway and in the back rooms as well

I’ve always been very particular about light, especially in a city where it can be hard to come by in apartments, but I can honestly say I haven’t once felt confined or lacking with this one. Now more about other stuff!

-all new renovations (stainless steel appliances, stone countertops, subway-tiled bathroom). We added an Ikea island to provide more counter space in the kitchen (which we’d be happy to leave). Living/dining room has plenty of space for couch and loveseat and a 10ft dining room table.

-washer/dryer in the apartment

-loads of storage space. There is a hallway coat closet, a hardware closet next to the washer/dryer, and a walk-in closet off the master bedroom. We've installed shelving units which we'd be happy to leave if you'd like!

-there is a balcony outside the living room which has been great for our plants and outdoor grilling. Total outdoor space approx 20ft x 4 ft

-the building has a good-sized gym, a playroom, a yoga room, a roof deck, and a 24hr parking garage. It is a block away from Metrotech, which is a collection of office buildings and small food cafes (Starbucks, Au Bon Pain) and a greenspace with trees and benches. The area is heavily secured at all hours, thanks to the JP Morgan Chase building on the corner. Bonus if you’re a Chase customer, ATM and branch is very close! As for trains, A/C/F/R are on the corner right outside the building, 2/3 and 4/5/G are 2-3 blocks away. Also within walking distance...Trader Joe's, Atlantic/Smith/Court Street restaurants, Brooklyn Promenade, YMCA, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Dumbo, Target, Junior's cheesecake

We’ve been really happy here! The building staff is fantastic and the management and maintenance teams have been very responsive as necessary.

The apartment can be made available anytime between February 1 and March 1. We are flexible through the month of February depending on the needs of the next tenant.

The rental would require the signing of a new one (1) year lease with the buildings management company. Monthly rent is $3285. First months rent and two months security deposit due at signing.

Thanks and best of luck with your search!
